Natural Red Coarse Sugar 110g is a large-crystal sanding sugar in red, from Sweetapolita's plant-based range. Coarse sugar behaves differently from a sprinkle: the big crystals catch light and give a frosted, sparkling finish rather than a scattered pattern, and because it is sugar it dissolves cleanly into the eating experience instead of sitting on top. It is the standard finish for rimming cocktail and mocktail glasses, sanding sugar cookies before baking, edging a frosted cake, and topping muffins and scones for a bakery-window sparkle. Red from plant-derived sources rather than a synthetic dye, which is the usual sticking point with red sanding sugars. Fully edible.
